Apply a thin even coating of cement to both the substrate and the laminate using a foam paint roller.
Applying laminate sheets.
Use the factory edge of the laminate sheet for those edges step 3 apply contact cement on the backs of the laminate pieces with a brush.
Starting at one end of the sheet remove the first wood strip or dowel and use a j roller to press the new sheet down onto the counter bonding the two pieces together.
Applying the countertop surface.
Use the roller to apply pressure to the sheet so the glue will have a strong bond and no air pockets.
Coat the countertop surface with contact cement too.
It takes about 20 minutes.
When applying contact cement be sure to wear gloves and protect your worktable from.
You will want to be very careful to keep the plywood and laminate clean after you begin to apply the glue.
Liquid contact cement is the best adhesive for bonding plastic laminate.
Apply two coats to particleboard.
Let the contact cement dry for 15 to 20 minutes.
Let the adhesive dry until you can put a piece of brown kraft paper on it and the paper doesn t stick.
Apply adhesive to the surface and to the back of the laminate with a brush or notched plastic applicator.
Allow the adhesive surfaces to dry to the touch.
Once you ve coated the back of the laminate sheet move it aside and apply contact cement to the countertop the same way.
It should take 10 15 minutes and you can see the difference between the wet and dry sections pretty.
On a workbench or other surface so you can apply the glue.
